Rogers Airport Secures $2.2 Million Grant for Expansion and Safety Upgrades
ROGERS, Ark. – The City of Rogers is making major improvements to its airport after receiving $2.2 million in federal grants, supplemented by $2.7 million in reserve funds to support critical aviation infrastructure projects.
The funding will be used to enhance safety measures, modernize equipment, and expand airport facilities.
Airport Upgrades in the Works
The improvements include:
$1.1 million to reconstruct taxiway lighting and upgrade the airfield electrical vault, ensuring better visibility and safer operations.
$779,051 for snow removal equipment, helping keep the airport operational in winter conditions.
$37,156 for T-hangar apron expansion, creating more space for private aircraft.
$24,000 for air traffic control tower maintenance, supporting efficient flight operations.
"This funding is crucial for maintaining safety and efficiency," said a Rogers airport official. "As air traffic increases, these investments will help us accommodate more flights and improve overall operations."
