Gilbert Plaza Development Receives Approval

The Rogers Planning Commission has approved a large-scale development plan for Gilbert Plaza, a new mixed-use project located at 400 W. Walnut Street in downtown Rogers. The development will feature a five-story building with a 24,662 square-foot footprint, which will include a restaurant on the ground floor and 119 multifamily residential units on the upper floors.

The project is situated in the T5.1 (formerly COM) zoning district, aligning with the city’s long-term vision of mixed-use urban cores designed to support commerce, entertainment, and residential living. The approval of this development reflects Rogers’ growth toward creating pedestrian-friendly, high-capacity hubs.

City staff highlighted the project’s compliance with access management standards, stormwater management, and its use of permeable pavers for water quality control. The site design includes a 5-foot sidepath on all adjacent streets, street trees, and existing streetlights. With no variances or waivers required, city planners recommended full approval for the project.
