Bentonville Advances Airport Development with Hangar Access Road Expansion
The Bentonville Municipal Airport is one step closer to completing its Hangar Development Project, as the City Council considers an $18,970 change order for the Hangar Access Road construction. This change order adjusts the scope of work initially assigned to the Water and Sewer Department, which faced staffing constraints.
The revised plan allows the project’s contractor, Sy-Con Excavation and Utilities, LLC, to handle critical adjustments to valves, manholes, and a fire hydrant. The project is funded through a combination of grants and city-matched funds, with in-kind contributions from other city departments helping to reduce costs to the General Fund.
“This is a vital project for Bentonville, not only in terms of airport development but also for the economic growth it supports,” said Transportation Director Dennis Birge. By ensuring seamless progress on this initiative, the city aims to bolster its municipal airport’s capacity to serve growing aviation demands.
