August Martin Appointed to NWA National Airport Authority Board

BENTONVILLE, AR – August Martin has been appointed to the Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) Authority Board of Directors, bringing extensive financial and strategic leadership experience to the board during a period of significant regional growth.

Martin, a Bentonville resident of eight years, serves as Chief Financial Officer of Art & Wellness Enterprises. His background includes an MBA, CPA certification, and over two decades of experience in finance and senior management across for-profit, non-profit, and government sectors, including work with the U.S. Department of Transportation.

In addition to his professional expertise, Martin has served on the boards of several local organizations, including Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Heartland Whole Health Institute, and the Alice Walton School of Medicine. His diverse experience positions him as a valuable asset to the XNA Board as the airport continues to expand its services and infrastructure.

"I am passionate about improving the quality of life in Bentonville and Northwest Arkansas," Martin stated in his application. "The recent and ongoing rapid growth in the region is both exciting and challenging. The XNA board is critical to ensuring that residents, business people, and tourists are able to travel in and out of the area smoothly and cost-efficiently."

As a board member, Martin aims to provide strategic insights, represent the voice of travelers, and leverage his financial expertise to help shape the airport’s future. With XNA playing a vital role in the region’s economy and connectivity, Martin emphasized the importance of ensuring that the airport meets the evolving needs of the community.

"Our region relies heavily on XNA for so many areas of our economy. It is critical for this board to provide the guidance to ensure we maximize the impact of flight travel to and from the region," he said.

Martin’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for XNA, as the airport adapts to increasing passenger volumes and implements long-term development plans. His leadership is expected to contribute significantly to XNA’s continued growth and operational efficiency.
