Rogers Fire Department Expands Fleet with New Truck for Risk Reduction Team
Rogers, AR – The Rogers City Council has approved a $35,035 purchase for a new 2024 Chevrolet Crew Cab truck to bolster the Fire Department’s Risk Reduction team. The funding, drawn from General Fund Reserves, ensures the team has the essential equipment to enhance its community safety and emergency response initiatives.
A Vital Addition for Fire Department Operations
The new truck will directly support the Risk Reduction team’s fieldwork, including safety inspections, fire prevention measures, and rapid response activities. The council authorized the purchase from Superior Automotive Group of Siloam Springs and opted to waive the competitive bidding process, citing limited bid options through state procurement contracts.
“Our Risk Reduction team plays a key role in community safety, and having the right tools is essential,” said Fire Chief William Hyde. “This vehicle is an investment in our commitment to protecting Rogers residents.”
Budget Adjustment to Facilitate Purchase
To finance the truck, the council approved a budget amendment, transferring $35,035 from the General Fund Reserves into the Fire Department’s capital expenditures account. The new vehicle will soon be in operation, assisting the Risk Reduction team in its proactive safety efforts throughout the community.
