Rogers Executive Airport Receives FAA Grant for West Side Improvements
Rogers, AR – The Rogers City Council has taken a significant step towards enhancing the Rogers Executive Airport by approving a substantial grant agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). During the council meeting on July 23, 2024, Mayor Greg Hines and City Clerk Jessica Rush were authorized to accept a grant of approximately $558,913.00 under the Airport Improvement Grant (AIG) program.
This grant is aimed at reimbursing the city for recent west side land acquisitions and support services that were greenlit by the council in previous resolutions. Additionally, the funds will finance the West Side Study, an initiative focused on the strategic development of the airport's west side to improve infrastructure and operational capacity.
The FAA grant requires the city to cover ten percent of the total project costs, demonstrating a robust partnership between local and federal entities. Airport Manager David Krutsch expressed optimism about the project's potential to enhance the airport's capabilities, stating, "This funding is critical for advancing our infrastructure and ensuring the airport meets the growing needs of our community and region."
The Rogers Executive Airport plays a pivotal role in regional transportation, supporting both commercial and private aviation needs. The improvements facilitated by this grant are expected to boost the airport's efficiency and capacity, contributing to the broader economic development of Rogers and the surrounding areas.
The council's swift approval of this grant highlights the city's proactive approach to securing federal resources for local infrastructure projects, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining and upgrading essential public facilities.
