Rogers City Council Approves Purchase of 2024 Ford Explorer, Waives Competitive Bidding

ROGERS, AR – The Rogers City Council has approved the purchase of a 2024 Ford Explorer for the city’s administration, opting to waive the competitive bidding process due to limited availability through state procurement contracts. The vehicle will be acquired from McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville, a local dealership that meets the city’s specifications.

As part of the deal, the city will trade in a 2009 Toyota Camry, reducing the purchase cost by $2,500. The purchase is already included in the 2025 budget, ensuring no unexpected financial impact.

City officials justified waiving the standard bidding process, citing exceptional circumstances where competitive bidding would be impractical. The resolution also grants the Mayor and City Clerk the authority to finalize the agreement with McLarty Daniel Ford.

The decision streamlines vehicle procurement for city operations, ensuring that administrative staff have reliable transportation while effectively managing city resources.
