FLUM Amendment #4: Major Land Use Changes in Uptown Rogers

ROGERS, Ark. – The Rogers Planning Commission is set to review a significant amendment to the Future Land Use Map (FLUM) that could reshape the Uptown Regional Center and surrounding areas.

The amendment proposes changes to the urban neighborhood placetype, allowing for denser development near Bellview and Perry Road. The goal is to align the zoning with the city's long-term vision for mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly urban spaces.

City planners emphasize that the proposed changes are meant to ensure smoother transitions between commercial and residential areas. However, some residents may raise concerns about potential increases in traffic, infrastructure demands, and neighborhood character shifts.
