New East Central Parking Garage Proposed to Improve Downtown Parking Solutions

Bentonville, AR — The Bentonville Planning Commission is set to review a conditional use permit for the East Central Parking Garage, a project proposed at 300 E Central Avenue. Designed to address the growing need for parking in the city’s downtown district, this garage is part of a broader effort to accommodate the area's rising foot and vehicle traffic.

The garage aims to enhance accessibility for visitors to Bentonville’s restaurants, shops, and community events. As the city continues to expand, the need for modern infrastructure to support downtown activities has become a pressing issue. According to city planners, the proposed parking facility will feature multiple levels, providing much-needed relief for local businesses and residents who struggle with limited parking options.

However, some concerns have emerged about how the structure might affect the aesthetics of Bentonville’s downtown. “We want to ensure that any development aligns with the character of the area,” said Elaine Kerr, a Planning Commission member. “While the garage is necessary, it should complement the city’s existing charm.”

The Planning Commission will discuss the proposal further, with public input encouraged to ensure community alignment.
