Infrastructure Upgrades and Budget Adjustments Approved

The Bentonville City Council approved several infrastructure projects and associated budget adjustments during its December 10, 2024, meeting, underscoring the city’s commitment to preparedness and growth.

Among the notable approvals was a budget adjustment to address costs related to the May 2024 storm event and to prepare for upcoming winter weather. The city allocated funds for essential supplies and repairs, ensuring Bentonville remains resilient against future challenges.

The Council also approved a change order for the municipal airport hangar project. This modification allows a time extension without penalties, ensuring that project quality and timelines remain intact despite unforeseen delays. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed with hangar leaseholders, enabling interest payments related to project delays.

These decisions reflect the city's focus on maintaining infrastructure reliability and preparing for future weather-related events. Public Works Director Sarah Lane remarked, "Proactive planning and timely adjustments are essential for a rapidly growing community like ours."
