Improved Traffic Flow: Roundabout Planned for Olive and 24th Streets
The Rogers City Council has allocated $330,000 from the Street Fund Reserves for the design of a new roundabout at the intersection of West Olive Street and North 24th Street. The resolution was passed during the December 10, 2024, meeting following a recommendation by John McCurdy, Director of Community Development.
The roundabout is intended to address growing traffic concerns at this busy intersection while enhancing emergency vehicle access for Fire Station #4. According to McCurdy, the project will improve the flow of vehicles in all directions, reducing delays and ensuring quicker response times for emergency services.
The approved funds will be used to develop engineering plans for the roundabout’s design and construction. The resolution also includes a severability provision to ensure the project can move forward even if minor legal challenges arise.
Mayor Greg Hines stated, “This project is a vital part of our efforts to keep Rogers moving forward, addressing current traffic needs and planning for future growth.” Updates on the project will be shared as the design progresses.
