City of Rogers Provides Storm Recovery Update

As part of its ongoing efforts to support residents in the wake of the May 26th storm, the City of Rogers has provided an update on the storm recovery progress. For the latest information on disaster relief efforts, residents can visit RogersAR.Gov/Relief or the official disaster relief page at https://www.rogersar.gov/1516/2024-Disaster-Relief.

Curbside Storm Debris Pickup

The City has collected an impressive 1.1 million cubic yards of debris throughout Rogers. On August 12th, the City began a final pass through all neighborhoods to ensure that remaining storm debris is cleared. Residents are urged to get debris to the curb as soon as possible to ensure collection during this last sweep. The collection process is being monitored with GIS technology, and zones will be marked as complete systematically.

A map of the current collection status is available, with completed streets marked in green. The final pass is expected to take about two weeks to complete. There is no need for residents to contact the City to schedule a pickup.

Important Guidelines for Debris Pickup

  1. Proper Sorting: Residents must ensure debris is sorted correctly. Separate vegetative material (such as trees and limbs) from other storm debris, including construction materials. Root balls will be picked up as part of the vegetative debris, while treated lumber and fencing should be placed with construction debris.

  2. Insurance Repairs: Any roofing, shingles, or construction materials resulting from insurance-covered repairs are not eligible for curbside pickup. These materials must be disposed of by the contractor handling the repair.

  3. Furniture and Appliances: Only furniture and appliances damaged during the May 26th storm are eligible for curbside pickup under the current contract. For bulk pickups that do not meet this criterion, contact LRS at 479-878-1384 or consider using Benton County Solid Waste for disposal.

This update ensures residents are aware of the final phase of debris collection and provides critical guidelines for proper disposal. Stay informed, and let's work together to complete the storm recovery process.
