Bike Fest 2025 Advances with Permit Proposal for Long-Term Use

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — A popular cycling event that draws crowds from across the country may soon have a more permanent home in Bentonville. On March 18, the Planning Commission reviewed a request to approve a Conditional Use Permit for Bike Fest 2025, proposed to take place at 1807 Southwest 2nd Street.

If approved, the permit would allow Bike Fest to operate as a long-term temporary use on land currently zoned as a Planned Unit Development (PUD). This designation enables creative land use within specific parameters—making it a suitable home for recurring large-scale events like Bike Fest, which celebrates cycling culture, gear, and outdoor recreation.

Planning staff noted that the permit would streamline the setup process and offer more predictability for future events. The applicant's goal is to formalize the use of the land for the annual festival, making it easier to plan vendors, routes, and promotional activities.

Bentonville has gained national recognition for its bike-friendly design and trail network. Hosting events like Bike Fest supports the city's brand as a cycling capital and boosts local businesses through tourism.

The Planning Commission did not report major opposition, and the permit is expected to move forward pending final approval from city leadership.
