Bella Vista Plans Rate Adjustments for Trash Collection Services

Bella Vista residents and businesses may soon see changes in their solid waste collection rates. The City Council is reviewing a resolution to establish new residential and commercial rates for trash collection, aimed at addressing rising operational costs and ensuring the sustainability of the city’s waste management services.

With increased waste volumes and higher expenses for equipment and personnel, city officials argue that the current rates no longer cover the full cost of service. The proposed adjustments are designed to balance affordability for residents with the need for reliable, efficient trash collection.

Mayor John Flynn emphasized the importance of the changes. "It’s critical that we maintain a waste management system that works for everyone while keeping our city clean and sustainable," he said.

The resolution also outlines plans to improve recycling services and explore new technologies to streamline waste collection. Residents can share their feedback during the public input session at the December 16 meeting, where the council will vote on the measure.
