Bella Vista City Council to Approve 2025 Budget with Focus on Safety and Infrastructure

The Bella Vista City Council is poised to approve its 2025 city budget, marking a strategic investment in public safety, infrastructure, and community services. The proposed budget outlines $23.3 million in revenues and $22.8 million in expenditures for the General Fund, reflecting an 8% increase in revenues compared to the previous year.

Key highlights include a significant boost in property tax revenue, attributed to new housing developments and increased property valuations. These funds will support additional staffing for public safety, including new police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel. The Fire Department’s budget alone will rise by 14%, allowing for the addition of two EMTs and one paramedic.

Infrastructure remains a priority, with $3.26 million allocated to the Street Fund for road maintenance and improvements. This funding represents a 6% increase over the 2024 budget, driven by higher county turnback revenues.

Mayor John Flynn noted that the budget reflects the city's commitment to balancing fiscal responsibility with the growing needs of the community. "This budget ensures that Bella Vista continues to provide high-quality services while preparing for the demands of future growth," he said.

The council will finalize the budget during its December 16 meeting, setting the stage for a productive year ahead.
